Stephen A. Smith is a sportscaster, author, motivational speaker and a former NFL player. Born in Queens, New York, Smith attended the University of Cincinnati before being drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the second round of the 1993 NFL Draft. He spent twelve seasons with the 49ers as a defensive back and two as a wide receiver
In 2003 he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as part of the inaugural class, as well as being inducted into the San Francisco 49ers Ring of Honor. He is currently an analyst for ESPN's NFL Live and has written for SLAM Magazine and ESPN The Magazine.
